Takasima Group is investing about RM45mil for 2011 and 2012 to expand its fitness equipment business in the country and overseas.

About RM15mil was for a manufacturing facility in Penang Science Park at Bukit Minyak, Penang which was scheduled for completion by end of the year and will be operational in the first quarter of 2012.

Takasima was formed in 1994 as a supplier of fitness equipment in Asia, supplying to countries including Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Thailand and Indonesia. Since 1998, the company operates more than 50 showrooms in Malaysia with more than 300 staff members who are devoted to the ideals of good health and superior quality.

The construction of the new factory which commenced today sits on a 1.21ha site would have the capacity to produce some 50,000 units of fitness equipment annually, including massage chairs and tread-mills.

The new facility consists of 1-storey production area with 3-storey office block will also house a club-house equipped with a fitness centre, sauna and karaoke centre.

Unitech has been commissioned to provide full Pre-Contract and Post-Contract Quantity Surveying and Cost Management Services.
